The course was on the inside of the Lingfield jump course. Looking at the all-weather track aerial view mentally extend the bottom left hand corner down to where the start of the straight all-weather is. Before the all-weather was built the jump course used to loop round inside the current top right corner (approx. where the light coloured road come off about one third the way down on the right. They used to race in the opposite direction to the actual racecourse. After two and a bit circuits the remaining runners would swing uphill thrugh the middle towards the finish.

Notes One of the biggest problems with the course was the drainage (something they had to sort out when laying the all-weather track). As part of the way the racecourse was laid out and the fact that the course is undulating meant that water would run down to the corner and area around the fourth fence and the associated bottom corner. SInce the Lingfield meetings were normally around the end of the season it was not the water that caused the problem but the way it dried out afterwards. If the course dried out in a wet then dry spring then not only would the grass be sparse in this area but it would then start to crack.
History After the closure of the Limpsfield the course both the Old Surrey & Burstow and the Mid-Surrey moved here to race in 1970.
