| Notes | Runners started with their backs to what would later be the first jump
in the home straight. The home straight was mainly steadily downhill. After
the finish it was downhill again round the corner down to the low spot on
the course - the start of the back straight. The back straight was then on
an uphill incline.
(To see where the course was - if travelling along the M25 from the Godstone junction and towards Kent you travel up to the brow of the hill (& under the bridge). The Motorway then goes downhill with a sweep to the left. As the slope levels out it then sweeps round to the right - as it starts to straighten out you will be able to see the angle of the top corner of the car park to your left with the woods behind it. |

| History | The Mid Surrey Drag started their racing here at 1964 and were joined there by the Old Surrey & Burstow in 1967.. Although the photo shows that the M25 doesn't quite overlap where the course ran there would have been a lot of disturbance adjacents to the motorway during it's construction - unless someone informs me otherwise I am pretty sure that it was the motorway that caused the move of both meetings after the 1970 season.. From there both meetings transferred their racing to the course on the inside of Lingfield racecourse. |
