CHIDDINGFOLD, LECONFIELD & COWDRAY
The Parham meetings have clearly upset one of the local rain-dance specialists as, once again, rain fell steadily from the second race onwards.

| Hunt | Fergus O'D (Peter Bull) was made the odds-on favourite. The bookies got this one right - an easy winner from the only other finisher CaddyMan (Andrew Coveney). |
| Confined | Another easy winner - but this time for the long priced Sean's Minstrel at 12/1 piloted by Philip Hall (well that's what Richard told me - to be honest half a length doesn't sound that convincing Richard!). Favourite Dragon Lord with Chris Gordon on board had to settle for the runners-up slot whilst Fraser Marshall on his own Dixon Varner finshed third. |
| Restricted | Philip Hall made it a quick double when taking the Restricted on his father's Little Farmer - making all from flag-fall to finish. He was one of several horses that vied for favouritism in the betting as did the runner-up Itsmyturnnow, another second for Chris Gordon. Ashburton Lord (M Legge) filled the third position. |
| Ladies Open | With hubby Chris runner-up twice to Philip Hall it now came round to Jenny Gordon to seek revenge when made favourite for the Ladies. However the Hall's continued the family stranglehold on the winners spot in the unsaddling enclosure - this time Tom Cobbler being successful - piloted by Pippa Hall and part-owned by her father-in-law Chris. Jenny didn't even manage to match Chris's runner-up spots as Didy Rowell's mud-lover Burntwood Melody relegated favourite Bitofamixup with Jenny on board into third. |
| Mens Open | Charing Open wnner Struggles Glory started favourite here but unseated owner Dave Robinson with a circuit still to go. The race went to the ever-consistent Peafield piloted by trainer Phil York (only a single victory for him today!). Philip Hall had another visit to the unsaddling enclosure as Brackenheath finished about 15 lengths in arrears of the winner whilst Paul Blagg on Kenny Davis took the third spot. |
| Maiden - Div. 1 | With the ground turning towards the heavy side now only two of the maidens managed to complete the course. David Dunsdon piloted Red Square Prince to victory over the only other finisher Tonrin (Phil York). |
| Maiden - Div. 2 | There were more finishers in the second half of the maiden won by Native Spin ridden by owner Dan Dennis. There would have been even more finishers had Tim Underwood not had brain failure when pulling up Sendonthecheque, in second at the time, short of the finishing line & turned his horse back into the unsaddling enclosure. This allowed the Peter Bull ridden Lindron to take second place from The Wee General (Simon Cobden) in third. Not impressed by Tim's mistake the stewards asked him to writethecheque for a £125 fine. |
