| Hunt | Four runners contested, with Straight Baron under Chris Gordon favourite at 7/4. Dennis, an unknown quantity, owned and ridden by David Robinson, took them along disputing the early lead with Straight Baron. The early pace was slow, and Dennis faded quickly after two circuits, and pulled up in the final circuit. Straight Baron, a confident ride three from home. |
| Maiden | Four runners, with Mrs Blaker's No Dramas favourite, ridden by Chris Gordon. Mac's View (Kate Pegrum) led the first circuit alongside Tomoojid (Jenny Gordon) clear of the two boys. Tomoojid was relegated to last, and pulled up before the 13th. No Dramas drew upsides Mac's View and then gained an easy lead three from home. |
| Mens Open |
Three runners went to post, with Struggles Glory the odds on favourite (David
Robinson). Struggles Glory and Esprit de Cotte (Phil Hall) drew clear of
Prime Course (Chris Gordon) who became detached after the first circuit.
Esprit de Cotte took the lead going into the Open Ditch on the second circuit.
There was nothing to choose between Struggles Glory and Esprit de Cotte in
the home straight, but out on the final circuit Struggles Glory regained
the lead. Prime Course was reeling them in four out, and they were three
in a line, three out. Struggles Glory landed just in front at the last. A
very exciting, tight finish followed. |
| Ladies Open | Five runners, with Bitofamixup the odds-on favourite,(Jenny Gordon). After an initial false start they were away OK the second time. Tooth Pick, (Kate Blatcher 2/1), was the first to show, with Silk Vestments (Petra Bryan-Brown 10/1) and Darakshan (Julie Wickens 2/1) towards the rear. Silk Vestments moved up to the lead, but was lost at the fourth. Livin It Up (Michaela Tomlinson) was some way back on the second circuit. On the final circuit Tooth Pick and Bitofamixup were nip and tuck, with Bitofamixup taking the lead at the Open Ditch, going on for an easy win. |
| Restricted | Three runners, with Find The Lady (Jenny Gordon) odds on favourite, went early to the start - unseated and remounted. Hurricane Harry (Annie Sansom) 6/4, then unseated leaving the paddock. Delay at the start, as Hurricane Harry was very reluctant, but eventually came under orders but then declined to participate. Find The Lady dictated Ravens Point (Mick Cauldwell, 3/1) jumping slowly and deliberately. Ravens Point bled and was pulled up approaching the 13th leaving Find The Lady to finish alone. |
| Confined | 5 Runners, with Lively Lord (Chris Gordon) a clear favourite from Graphic Designer (Jenny Gordon 3/1). All safely away, Lively Lord from Graphic Designer and White Smoke (Russell Ross) bringing up the rear. Lively Lord had a clear lead at the 4th. White Smoke relegated The Proud Pound (outsider 6/1, Mick Caldwell) to last. Going out on the second circuit second place was disputed between Graphic Designer and Tell the Nipper (Marcus Gorman) clear of the other two. Three from home Graphic Designer came up inside of Lively Lord and touched down in front at the last. The Proud Pound unseated his rider at the second last. Another exciting finish with Graphic Designer winning by a neck (a battle of the Gordons) and Tell The Nipper in third. |
