1950 SEASON

And now the 'Nomination Race' becomes known as 'The Open Race'.
The West Street finally make their post war return - with a one year opening of the Aldington course.
The Chiddingfold Farmers return to the South-East after giving up their Bone Fide Hunt Meeting.
An intriguing one here - perhaps someone can throw some light on. The site editor has no record of any Chiddingfold Farmers (CF) point-to-point meetings in the period 1937 up to the last pre-war meetings in 1939. When the CF returned after the war they held (certainly in 48 & 49) Bone Fide meetings at Tweseldown in conjunction with the Hampshire Hunt - it is therefore quite possible that they were doing the same prior to the war. Prior to the war the Chiddingfold Hunt and the Lord Leconfield's were separate hunts holding their own point-to-points (at Cranleigh and Rudgwick respectively). It would appear that 'post-war' the two hunts amalgamated with a single post war hunt racing meeting.
