1949 SEASON

Although Bone Fide meetings continue (see 1948) nationally nearly half of the hunts that ran one in 1948 decided to go back to running a 'regular' point-to-point. The Chiddingfold Farmers continued their union with the Hampshire Hunt holding a BFHM at  Tweseldown. The Erdge, Old Surrey & Burstow and the Surrey Union had already decided to return to the regular style of hunt racing. Probably something to do with the Ladies protesting because they weren't allowed races at these BONE FIDE meetings.
